Nowhere is Deep Dish Pizza so iconic as in Chicago. Chicago-style pizza is prepared according to several assorted styles developed expressly in Chicago. The most iconic is at Chicago Uno Grill, formerly Pizzeria Uno, the oft-acknowledged inventor of the original Deep- Dish style, featuring a thick crust and upside-down base with an olive oil foundation. Though the specific inventors from Pizzeria Uno are disputed; (Accounts vary; was it Ike Sewell and Ric Riccardo, the 1943 founders of Pizzeria Uno? Or was it one of their employees, pizza-great Rudy Malnati Sr.?) Mysteries aside, Deep Dish has spread out over Chicago with many variations, including a slightly thinner butter crust alternative. As we pursue our daytime guided pizza tour, we will see Chicago like a local, visiting four pizzerias in off-the-beaten path restaurants (best to skip the lengthy Uno line!), and sample more than four slices of local Chicago pizza variations! Learn the history, ingredients, and physics of how these creative, top-notch pizzas are prepared. Along the way, as we enjoy our walk through the legacy of Chicago pizza, we will explore the history of local Chicago neighborhoods.

Guide: Our licensed guides reserve the right to cancel the scheduled tour due to weather conditions (rain, storm, snow or other). In case of cancellation, we can offer you an alternative date or a total cancellation, in which case we will give you a full refund.
Cancellation Policy for the private tour: If you send us a cancellation request more than 15 days before the day of your tour, a 50% refund will be given. If you send us a cancellation request less than 15 days before the day of your tour, no refund will be given.
Pet: As much as we love them, they are not allowed.
Request to reschedule your tour: All requests to reschedule your tour must be made in writing and sent to us via email more than 15 days prior to your tour or activity. There are no exceptions. Without an email, we will not be able to reschedule your tour.
Videos and pictures: We reserve the right to record video footage and photographies in connection with future promotional and publicity for MAD Tours and Events on social media and website.
Belongings: Mad Tours and Events is not responsible for any personal items which are lost, stolen or left behind.
Passenger Voucher check-in Instructions: On the day of tour or activity, please arrive 15 minutes early to the tour departure point at the indicated address sent with your confirmation.
No Show: Please note that if you do not show up on the day of your tour or activity, your tour is forfeited.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS (IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ):
Please let us know in advance how many people in your group are vegetarian or do not eat certain meats or fish and shellfish.
At this time, we are not able to serve gluten-free meals, vegan diets, or strict food allergies.
We will need to receive an email at least 12 hours prior to the event at contact@madtoursandevents.com to inform us of your specific diet. If we are not notified within the 12-hour time frame prior to the visit, this may result in an additional cost, as we pay for the meals in advance. If you do not notify us, your special diet meal may not be available. In this case, no refunds will be given.
