Enter the “Dragon’s Gate” on foot and prepare to enter another world. Chinatown, one of San Francisco’s most famous and unique neighborhoods, is truly a “city within a city”. Its bustling 24 blocks (the oldest in the city) include exotic shops, tantalizing restaurants (some with chickens hanging from the ceiling!), ornate lamp posts, and Pagoda-style architecture. See an open-air food market, pass the Great Star Theater, Canton Flower shop, and other fascinating shops. Visit a Chinese pharmacy and learn about traditional Chinese herbal medicine. See if you can spot an authentic temple hiding in plain sight. Go tea tasting– try hot tea and Boba tea. Pass Chinatown’s own Hospital, where film great Bruce Lee was born. See a local Chinese school. Find a hidden movie set. Learn about how Chinatown deals with its ghosts. Think Chinese fortune cookies were from China? Think again: tour a fortune cookie factory to find out how Chinese-American ingenuity created the first fortune cookie right here in San Francisco! And don’t worry; you’ll have plenty of time to shop. Finally, meet at a restaurant to finish your Chinatown experience with Dim Sum. In case you haven’t had this heavenly dish, Dim Sum is a traditional Chinese meal made of dumplings, served with tea, and shared joyfully among friends and family.

Guide: Our licensed guides reserve the right to cancel the scheduled tour due to weather conditions (rain, storm, snow or other). In case of cancellation, we can offer you an alternative date or a total cancellation, in which case we will give you a full refund.
Cancellation Policy Private Tour: If you cancel more than 15 days prior to your tour, a 50% refund will be given. If you cancel less than 15 days prior to your tour, no refund will be given.

Videos and pictures: We reserve the right to record video footage and photography in connection with future promotional and publicity for MAD Tours and Events on social media and website.
Belongings: Mad Tours and Events is not responsible for any personal items which are lost, stolen or left behind.
Passenger Voucher check-in Instructions: On the day of tour or activity, please arrive 15 minutes early to the tour departure point at the indicated address sent with your confirmation.
Pet: As much as we love them, they are not allowed.
Taxes & Booking fees: They are not included in the rate. Those fees will be indicated once you start the booking reservation process.
Request to reschedule your tour: All requests to reschedule your tour must be made in writing and sent to us via email more than 72 hours prior to your tour or activity. There are no exceptions. Without an email, we will not be able to reschedule your tour.
Please note that if you do not show up on the day of your tour or activity, your tour is forfeited.

Please let us know in advance how many people in your group are vegetarian or do not eat certain meats or fish and shellfish.
At this time, we are not able to serve gluten-free meals, vegan diets, Kosher, or strict food allergies.
We will need to receive an email at least 12 hours prior to the event at contact@madtoursandevents.com to inform us of your specific diet. If we are not notified within the 12-hour time frame prior to the visit, this may result in an additional cost, as we pay for the meals in advance. If you do not notify us, your special diet meal may not be available. In this case, no refunds will be given.
