Breathtaking Boat Tour – Water Views of the City

This stunning 1-hour boat trip takes you on an unforgettable journey through the harbor. Discover the city from unique vantage points for new perspectives and amazing views. We take you within a few meters of the main sights and leave you enough distance to capture the panoramic skyline.  Our US Coast Guard licensed captains stop the boat at multiple points along the way to highlight landmarks. We take you to 40+ sites on local waterways where you can take the best pictures of New York!  Our tours depart from the North Cove Marina at Brookfield Place, located in lower Manhattan next to One World Trade Center. After a briefing on the dock, you board our safe and seaworthy US Navy designed boat. We’ll leave Manhattan and cross the Hudson River for spectacular views of Downtown and Midtown with the Empire State and Chrysler buildings.  We’ll head north past the FDNY fire station, the Chelsea docks and the Hudson shipyards with “The Vessel” and head to the Intrepid aircraft carrier before turning south along the New Jersey coast. From Hoboken, we cross Manhattan again and stop just outside the Financial District and One World Trade Center. Around Battery Park, you’ll see helicopters taking off and landing as we pass South Street Seaport, go under the Brooklyn Bridge, and cruise along the Brooklyn waterfront and around Governors Island. Hidden Speakeasy Tour

During the Prohibition era in the U.S. from 1920 to 1932, selling alcoholic beverages was a crime. That’s why secret production and consumption places quickly popped up. They were nicknamed speakeasies since the customers who went there were advised to speak softly to avoid arousing suspicion.

Today, legal speakeasy-inspired venues are reappearing all over New York. Discover Prohibition-era New York City in the 21st century by visiting the most fabulous speakeasies in Manhattan. Drink a vintage cocktail in a Jazz Age interior with semi-hidden entrances and old-school New York decor. The magic of Christmas lights in Dyker Heights & DUMBO

Dyker Heights Christmas Lights Tour (December 1-30): Did you know that New York’s most successful Christmas tradition is not in Rockefeller Center, but rather in southern Brooklyn? It’s true—the residents of the mansions in Dyker Heights, a Brooklyn suburb, started an annual tradition in the 1980s with lavish decorations for the Christmas season.

It has become a ritual and an extravagant spectacle not to be missed. You’ll immediately understand why over 100,000 people flock to this neighborhood to admire Dyker’s dazzling lights every December.

After gazing at the lights and a stop at a gorgeous Italian bakery, we’ll finish off this four-hour driving and walking tour in DUMBO (short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) for the most spectacular view of Manhattan. Local residents coined the acronym DUMBO in 1978, thinking that such an unattractive name would deter developers. (It didn’t work.) It’s surely the ideal way to end our festive December evening together!

Charming and Intriguing Greenwich Village & St Marks

The Village, as we call it in New York has an exciting and revolutionary past. The area was originally a rural outpost of the city, evidenced by its brick townhouses and low-rises, tiny green parks and hidden courtyards, and narrow, tree-lined streets. Its picturesque tree-lined streets still resonate today, as a space for civil activism, artistic innovation, outrageous parties, and rainbow flags that promote the gay revolution. Jazz clubs and Off-Broadway Theaters are hidden amid the brownstones and New York University buildings.

The neighborhood echoes with literary, beat-poet and music history; it’s where Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez began their careers in the 1960s. In the 1800s, Henry James, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman and Edgar Allen Poe graced its streets. Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Sarah Jessica Parker and many more stars were born here, too.

If you have time after the tour, stop by Washington Square Park for a game of chess and unparalleled people-watching around the historic fountain in the shadow of the arch, which is frequently used in films and series.

Discovery of The Meatpacking, the High Line and Hudson Yard

The tour starts in the old slaughterhouses of the Meatpacking district, where the movie “Gangs of New York” with Leonardo DiCaprio was shot. This hip commercial area on the far west side of Manhattan is home to the Whitney Museum of American Art, designer clothing stores and a section of the High Line. Its cobblestone streets are chock full of trendy restaurants and clubs in the cavernous spaces once occupied by industrial meatpacking plants. The tour continues to wind through the famous Chelsea Market, a food and retail marketplace with a global perspective, as well as the old Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first created. We’ll take you to the High Line, an old railroad that’s been transformed into an elevated garden with lush flora that supports bees. Admire avant-garde artistic installations and the crazy architecture that this walk offers. At the end of the High Line, we’ll arrive at the new Hudson Yards district. It’s a playground for millionaires, where we’ll have the opportunity to see the Vessel, a towering sculpture also known as New York’s Staircase.  At the end of this tour, you have many options to extend your time at the Hudson Yards mega-mall, like exploring the Vessel and visiting the observation deck, The Edge or dining at celebrity chef Jose Andres’ restaurant, Mercado Little Spain.
